Zen Ten!

video

February 27th is our wedding anniversary! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man for my husband and my best friend. We have gone through a lot of hard things together, and done a few crazy things too, I am glad they were all with Mike. We have both changed over the past ten years and even though we are different people now, our love is still strong and our relationship is solid and continually evolving into something that true love stories are made of. Mike is more than everything I need, I love him more every day. I love you Mikey!

Happy Valentines Day!

Last night we had Family Home Evening and we talked about Love. We each made hearts out of pipe cleaners and I think they kind of show off each of our personalities.
(Left to Right: Lilly's, Mike's and Amanda's)Lilly loved the big red heart I made for the lesson and she also thought the heart crown Mike made for her was pretty cool.
So far having family home evening on Fridays is working out great for our family. I think we've been doing them for over a month now and it feels great to have a time set aside to teach eachother about the scriptures and the gospel.

I hope everyone has a happy Valentines Day!

My tricky girls

Lilly likes to pretend that she is a puppy, but mostly she likes me to be the puppy and she will give me treats for sitting, jumping and rolling over. My back was starting to hurt because Lilly kept telling me to rollover so I decided to switch the roll and Lilly became the puppy, and of course Bryn will do anything for a treat too :) Here are my girls balancing cheerios on their noses, what good puppies.
(The couch cushions were on the floor for gymnastics in the living room )

Lilly's New Pink Palace

Last weekend was my four day weekend and Mike and I decided to start Lilly's room remodel. Mike did ALL of the work and I got to spend lots of fun time with Lilly. Lilly and I tried to help paint, but a 3-year-old with a paintbrush and an ok to paint the walls is a little wild, we lasted about 20 minutes until I called breaktime and put Lilly in the bath.
Here are a couple of before shots that I took during the demolition phase.Lilly's bed went were the carpet is showing, we moved it out and put it in our room for the weekend. This is against the wall where the built in cupboards and shelves were. They were handy for storage, but took up A LOT of space, Mike took them out and WOW what a difference.
Now the after pictures!!!!
This is the wall with all of the shelves and cabinets now. So pretty with Lilly's white furniture. Lilly picked pink for her wall color and it turned out really nice. Lilly really wanted the brightest pink she saw at Home Depot, but we compromised and picked this nice soft pink called pink parfiat. While we were walking down the carpet aisle Lilly pointed at a carpet sample and kept saying "I want that one, the pink one!" Unfortunately we didn't replace the carpet in her room (yet) but when we do it probably wont be pink. Lilly is really turning into a pink girl, she always wants to wear pink and often will tell me that her hair is pink like the Zither Zather Zuzz a character in one of her books.
We also bought a new storage rack for all of Lilly's toys. It fits almost all of them and now Lilly can see what toys she has and remembers to play with them. Before we had things stashed in the cupboards and in her toy box and toys were forgotten. This is so nice, I love it and it was on sale too. Lilly's teepee is now where her bed used to be.

Now I need to find some cute curtains to match and also that block out the light, so Lilly wont wake up in the morning when the sun rises (6:00 AM) Lilly is really enjoying her new pink palace and I am so happy that it is done and it turned out so cute. Mike did an awesome job! I've said it before, but I am so lucky to have such a handy husband. Not only can he fix things, but he was able to create such a beautiful space for Lilly. - I am so lucky, to have a great husband and a cute little princess.

Great Article - "The Gift of Adoption"

The February Ensign published a wonderful article on adoption. It has four stories, Birth Mother, Birth Father, Grandparents and Child, all wonderful! Here is the link if anyone is interested in reading it. "The Gift of Adoption"

I really enjoyed the Child's story, I am so glad that Mike and I both tell Lilly her story and I hope that someday she will know how blessed our lives are because of her.
