Foto Friday (on Sunday Morning)

Hi! Sorry, I didn't post on Friday. Life is busy and I haven't had a spare minute to blog. Grandma C. flew out for a visit and we are soooooo sad that she had to go back. Now everytime Lilly see's an airplane she exclaims that it must be taking Grandma home.

I think one of my favorite times was our trip to downtown SLC. (BTW there is nowhere to park downtown. Lilly is pretty good at throwing coins (thanks to our mall trips) and spent a few of Grandma's in the fountain. This spot is a cool place for a family photo. About 9 1/2 years ago Mike and I had one of our first 'family' photos taken here.Look how young we were! We are still so happy and much deeper in love.

We visited the LDS Church History Museum and boy am I glad I was not a pioneer! I love my microwave, dishwasher, levis, and grocery stores. I am deffiantly so thankful for modern times and for the sacrifices my ancestors endured. We happened to pick the hottest day of the summer to walk around and do touristy things, I can't imagine walking day after day across the nation to find a place to live were people wouldn't burn down my house because of my religion.

Bye Grandma C. We love you and miss you already! (see you in November!)

Foto Friday!

Lilly's Grandma C. is out for a visit from Washington, she brought with her a TeePee! Lilly loves it and has played a lot in it. Grandma C. made the TeePee and embroidered on it "Lilly's Cave" it's really cute.

Happy Father's Day, to my BEST Friend!

Happy Father's Day, Mike!

Mike is such an awesome Dad, he totally loves being a dad and it shows. Lilly is lucky to have such a dedicated father. Mike loves teaching her new things and also playing and goofing around. I always say that Lilly gets her silliness from Mike. It warms my heart watching them play together and I feel SOOOOOO blessed to have a man that cares about his child more than anything else in this world.
Mike is a man of many talents he is the most creative person I have ever met, he is also has the funniest personality and always makes me laugh. Mike can fix ANYTHING I never worry if something breaks, I know that Mike will repair it. He can build furniture, sheds, picture frames, sandboxes, anything. Mike is also so smart, he really can do anything he puts his mind to.

I love you Mike, you are the love of my life I am so glad that you are Lilly's daddy!

I posted three pictures today for 'Foto Friday' I couldn't post just one on such a special day.
Lilly had her VERY first haircut today! She did soooooo good, my friend Kim is a hairdresser and she comes to my house to do my hair and I asked if she could give Lilly a trim too. Lilly was so excited and did so good.

She really loved getting pampered and her hair looks beautiful.

Here is the after picture. Kim styled it for Lilly like a princess with bows, per Lilly's request.

Smile Update!

Thank you all for your kind calls and comments concerned about Lilly's procedure. She is doing wonderfully and her smile is healthy now. Here is how things went at the dentist: The Anesthesilogist tried to 'trick' Lilly while giving her a shot by putting a box of toys in front of her while he snuck a shot in her arm. Well, you can't trick Lilly and she knew it was coming and when it did, she looked at him and said "that really hurt" in the saddest little voice I've ever heard. Then of course she started to cry. It took a few minutes for the sleepy shot medicine to kick in and when it did it was so scary for me. Lilly shook a little and just had this dazed look, I hated seeing her like that. We laid Lilly down on the dentist chair and were asked to go wait in the waiting room. About 45 minutes later they came and got us and we waited in the recovery room with Lilly while she slowly woke. The dentist came in while we were waiting and said that Lilly did awesome and he was able to repair all of the teeth affected by the lack of enamel. He was also able to coat a few of her teeth with a sealant. Unfortunately her molars aren't up enough to seal, but when the are I am totally getting that done too. He said that we have been doing a great job at keeping her teeth healthy and to keep it up and hopefully we wont have to do this again. The lack of enamel could be genetic, or it most likely was caused by some disruption during pregnancy. We will just need to bring Lilly back to the dentist every 3-months for fluoride treatments and check-ups.
Lilly was up and riding her tricycle about 5 hours after her appointment. She also downed a jello, a pudding, a yogurt and a bunch a juice for dinner. The dentist told us to keep her on a soft diet for a few hours, I think Lilly wishes she could always be on a soft diet :) She literally drank the jello from it's container.
Today Lilly seems to be back to normal and her happy self. We went to the Library, Costco, Walmart and Wendy's this morning and she seemed just fine :) She also helped Mike work in the backyard on yet another project...

Time for a Beautiful Smile!

Lilly is having some major dental work done tomorrow afternoon. I am nervous about it, but the end result will be worth all the worry. Lilly was born with little to no enamel on a few of her baby teeth. Luckily she was a very slow teether and so only a few of them were affected by this. Tomorrow she will be sedated at the dentist and he will fix them and Lilly wont have tooth pain anymore, yay!

We have been trying to prepare Lilly for her dental procedure for the past week. She seems to understand that her mouth wont hurt after they are repaired. But I am not sure she realizes that it wont be very fun while she's there... hopefully she will be asleep and it wont traumatize her. I've noticed that lately Lilly's teeth have really been hurting her and she keeps saying "I'm going to the dentist to get my teeth fixed!" as kind of a comfort thing when she gets a twinge of pain. Also she is getting her 2-year-old molars in so that doesn't help in the mouth pain department. Wish Lilly luck!

So far the only person I know of that is playing is: http://becausemamasays.blogspot.com/

Lilly has been totally into Thomas the Train lately. In this picture Lilly and Thomas were in a train :) (aka diaper box). We went to Costco and of course after going to Costco Lilly has to play in all of the big boxes for a little while. I think she needs a playhouse :) I already know what we are getting Lilly for Christmas this year too, a train set! She is such a well rounded girl. She loves to play with dolls, stuffed animals and be a princess but also enjoys trains, fixing things with daddy and of course fishing :)

Gone Fishing...

Today we went fishing, total we caught (and released) 5 bluegill fish. Lilly caught 3 of those and I think she is my lucky fishing buddy. The top picture is Lilly's first catch of the day! She was so proud. Mike and Lilly had been practicing fishing in the backyard all day yesterday. They would cast the fishing line into targets; Lilly's swimming pool and into the sandbox.
Here is Lilly with her 2nd catch of the day!
Here is the third fish, this one was really fiesty. I figured out that bluegills have spikey fins and Lilly thought it was really funny to see me jump.

Mike and I each caught one fish on our own, I think Lilly is the master angler in the family. The group closest to us at the pond caught at least an 18 inch fish! We saw the big ones, and I think they saw us too so we didn't get to catch them, this time...

I really enjoyed our fishing trip and am looking forward to more this summer. Seeing Mike baiting the hooks and getting Lilly's pole ready reminds me of going fishing with my dad. Those are really great memories for me, thanks Dad. It warms my heart to see Mike in the father role, especially doing things that I remember so fondly doing with my dad.
