Quarterly Meeting

We had our quarterly meeting with our caseworker at LDS Family Services on Thursday. Our caseworker liked our pass along cards, she thought they looked really nice. I hope that everyone got some, if we forgot you please let me know and I will put some in the mail to you. Also, if you need more let me know I can send more to you. Mike designed the cards, LDS Family Services had a simple template, but we didn't really like it so Mike went to work and created ours. He also designed pass along cards for his brother and his wife. They are trying to adopt their second baby too.

All of our friends and family members who have e-mail also got spammed by us last week with an e-mail to forward to all their friends and family. These things are a little different and not really the conventional way to adopt, but Mike and I feel strongly that by working to find our next little one we will be blessed. I know that throughout our journey of adoption my faith has grown emensly. When thinking of adoption and all of the trials, challenges and blessings my life is given a scipture comes to mind James 2:20, "faith without works is dead". These adoption outreach things (pass along card, e-mail, other things we are working on) are out of our comfort zone, but Mike and I decided that we will continue to work hard at finding a special little miracle to add to our family even if we have to come out of our comfort zones.

EMT = ME

sooooooooooooo I keep forgeting to post about my EMT tests. They weren't hard, but boy was I nervous especially for the practical one to show off my wicked life saving techniques.

First off I would like to thank Mike for letting me practice putting on a C-Collar and completing rapid trauma and medical assessments on him for about 7 hours straight. I was able to complete my trauma assessment in under 6 minutes and medical in about about 7 minutes by the time the night was through. Secondly, I want to thank Mike (again) for encourageing me to stay in the course and FINISH what I started. After I got a job at night it was soooooo hard to get up at 6:00 AM and go to class, but I DID it and am glad. I haven't ever really been good at finishing projects and this was a project and a half. After I took the written test and found out I PASSED I just went to my car and cried, a strange reaction for me. So I passed both tests and I also passed the course with an A. Now I am an EMT, not sure what I will do with my certification, but I am very proud of myself. Thirdly It feels so good to acomplish something and to do it well.

Having Some Fun!

I try and do fun things with Lilly in the mornings before I go to work and today we wanted to go to the waterfall up the canyon in the jeep, but it was closed so we went to a park along a river. It was fun, and Lilly enjoyed playing in the water and on the rocks along the trail.

I love taking pictures on cloudy days, the lighting always seems to be about right. Here are a few cute ones I got of Lilly.

I asked Lilly to laugh in one of these, can you guess which one? I think it's the funniest picture.

Time, Kidney's and Love...

I can't believe it's already March and it's almost over. Time is moving so quickly, it seems the older you get the quicker your life moves along. Sometimes it is good when things move by quickly (AKA School, colds, work) But realizing this really helps me cherish the moments I have spent with my loved ones and not waste my precious time with them.

Mike and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary on February 27th, it really has been a wonderful 9 years. Mike and I really have grown closer together through our time together. I love him so much. To celebrate we went bowling with my sister and her husband (Angie and Wade), it was a blast. Mike won the first game and if you can believe it I won the 2nd game!!! For me winning was a complete fluke, I almost think they let me win :) Even if they did, it still felt good to win, ha ha.

A few weeks ago we started our seedlings for our garden this summer, they are growing wonderfully! Lilly is really enjoying watching them grow, the other morning she kept saying "The Kidney's are growing up and up and up!" I couldn't figure out what she meant by "Kidney's" but after hearing her say it over and over I realized she meant Zucchinis. We started the seeds in egg cartons and we had to transplant them to cups because they are growing so quickly. I sure hope Spring comes soon so we can get them in the ground. I am very excited to can veggies and salsa this summer. My Mom bought me a canner and I am looking forward to learning how to use it and build up our food storage with our organic home grown veggies.

Bloggin' Mania

Welcome to our new blog!!

I really wanted to have a 'blog' of my own and keep the website so Mike figured out how to link a blog to our website! He is so smart. I am luckly to have such a smart computer savy husband, I've learned a lot from him, but mostly he just does what I ask him :) (he's obediant too).

A few of the gals that I work with all have blogs and really inspired me to try to come up with clever, interesting things to write about. So hopefully I can try to whip out a few fun things now and then. Mostly, though I will be writing about my favorite person in the WORLD, Lilly.
